The Hydrocord Floater is a fully autonomous robotic platform for underwater acoustic monitoring. It holds position at a set depth, profiles the water column in steps, and reports back only when something worth reporting happens — no cellular reception, install crew, or ongoing maintenance visit required.
Physical / mechanical
- Maintains depth up to 50 m, adjustable in 0.5 m increments
- Profiles the water column in steps anywhere from 0-50 m
- Anchored depth-keeping in currents up to 2 knots
- 15 kg, 1 m length
- Batteries detach for air transport
Sensing
- Four synchronized hydrophones plus one projector
- Onboard processing
- Ascends on a user-defined event to report results via satellite comms
Usability
- Fully configurable from any device over WiFi — no installation or cellular reception needed
- Results downloadable directly on board
